How does Erbium® spot laser skin resurfacing treatment work?
Unlike most other laser skin resurfacing treatments, the Erbium® laser utilizes a much narrower area of heating nearby tissues. Designed to target superficial and moderately deep lines on face, hands, neck and, chest, Erbium® treatments offer fewer side effects and faster treatment times as compared to other laser treatments. Another added benefit of the Erbium® spot laser is its suitability on some deeper skin tones.
What can laser skin resurfacing treat?
The versatility of laser skin resurfacing is well-known among dermatologists and another aesthetic skin specialists. Wrinkles, sun-damaged skin, hyperpigmentation and other pigmentation issues, lines, and scarring are just some of the issues that are effectively treated with lasers. Common aesthetic issues treated with Erbium® include:
- Crow’s feet
- Laugh lines
- Smoker’s lines
- Acne scars
- Other fine lines & wrinkles

- Hyperpigmentation
How long does it take to recover from a laser skin resurfacing treatment?
With Erbium® there is no downtime, however healing may take up to 3-4 weeks post-treatment, depending on what was addressed. Redness and mild-swelling can be expected for 3 to 5 days. Your skin may experience flaking for a few days. It will be recommended that you clean and moisturize your skin multiple times a day to help with the healing process.
Nevertheless, results can be seen faster than other comparable treatments—even in as little as one treatment. However, depending on the severity of your skin concerns, multiple treatments may be needed and can be repeated every 6 to 12 months.
To enhance the results of laser skin resurfacing, we recommend starting with clean, hydrated, and nourished skin.
